We were thrilled to be a part of the Energy Skills Taranaki Primary Schools Science & Engineering Fair last week, for the second year running, where students from various schools across the region, between Years 4-6 presented their displays.
The two categories; Engineering Robot Challenge and the Super Science Category, saw entries full of imagination and hard work fill the tables as the children proudly showed off their experiments and projects to family and friends.
Our Project Engineer, CJ Lepper, had the pleasure of attending as a guest judge, “I was blown away by the quality of the work prepared by the young kids. It was awesome to see how much creativity had gone into their work to develop a robotic display. It was also impressive to see how many of them had followed a really robust process with planning, clear methodology, insightful results and best of all, lessons learnt.”
The children walked away with some awesome prizes for their entries and our Hiringa drink bottles in their goodie bags proved a big hit for the second year running. The categories for prize winners were Most Creative, Best Use of Materials, Best Technical Design, Best Poster and Best Costume.
First time judging at this event, CJ said, “It’s fantastic to see the skills these kids are learning and their willingness to try their hand at something new, learn as they go and keep trying until they succeed!”
Tino pai tamariki! We look forward to seeing your projects again next year.
